TWISTING THE KNIFE

TWISTING THE KNIFE

Broke myself again today,

A simple slip of the tongue,

Mentioned the word slurry,

and the shock and awe

Of your death hit me between the eyes.

What a shitty way to die,

Head cleaved by a muck spreader,

Not even screenplays could fathom

such soul-destroying depths.

And you a god-given Angel too.

The image swims across my cortex,

And I can’t let it go,

Can’t go with the flow…

I can’t follow the stream,

I’m stuck in that pregnant pause.

All life disintegrated in that moment,

My Chi for ever blown apart,

How can you centre yourself,

when a bomb has destroyed you.

I can but try but I know in vain.
